The original project of the main house dates back to 1911. The house consists of ground floor, first floor, second floor and roof terrace. Taking advantage of the size of the plot and the demolition of the existing illegal annexed construction, the project includes the rehabilitation of the main house, its extension and the creation of a common basement. It is proposed to divide the building into 3 autonomous units: Unit A – ground floor of the existing house + extension; Unit B – floors 2 and 3 of the existing house (south area) including the roof terrace; Unit C – floors 2 and 3 of the existing house (north area).

The extension to the back of the living area, at ground floor level, and the creation of a common garage in the basement, for car parking and storage, are designed with an elevation of the land: a slightly higher plane that allows the creation of a garden at 1st floor level of the existing house. The interior/exterior relationship of the existing buildings is reinforced with a qualified landscaping project, recovering the identity, values and references of gardens from the beginning of the 20th century. A lift provides access from the basement floor to the common garden level and to Units A and B.

The structure of the main house (resistant stone masonry walls, floors on wooden beams and roof supported on wooden trusses), traditional from the late 19th century/early 20th century is in a reasonable state of conservation, according to the Structural Inspection and Diagnosis Report.

The aim is to preserve the original design of the building in its exterior and interior expression; to recover tiles, stonework, wooden eaves, iron railings; to preserve the original compartmentalisation, with slight adaptations, as well as plastered ceilings, panelling, skirting boards, doors/carvings/doors, paintings/skins, and wooden flooring; to rebuild and adapt the metal structure enclosing the winter garden; to reproduce the wooden window frames with a design identical to the originals.

The roof is raised slightly, its existing structural elements are reused and two dormer windows and a skylight are introduced to illuminate the new stairway of Unit B, increasing the habitable area of the roof span.

It adapts the dwellings to current needs, providing the building with contemporary levels of comfort, networks and infrastructures (HVAC, hydraulics, electrical/telecommunications installations, acoustic performance).
